English Premier league top finishers Liverpool and Manchester City, who finished position one and two last season, will be back in champions league action tonight.

The two sides who only last played in the league two days ago will have to keep up with the tight schedule that has been forced by corona virus outbreak, as is with their opponents.

Injury hit liverpool will be hoping to get another win when they welcome danish side FC Midtylland to Anfied after a successful trip to Amsterdam where they worked hard to hold hosts Ajax to a one nil win. The only goal of the game was helped by ajax left back Nicolas Tagliafico who deflected a Sadio Mane cross into his own net. Midtylland, on the other hand were clobbered four nil at home by free scoring Atalanta Bergamasca, and will have high hopes of earning a point in the elite competition. The big win for Atalanta brought them to the top of group D.

Man city, on the other hand extend their Champions league exploits when they face off with Marseille in France in a group C fixture. The Cityzens came from behind to edge past the Portuguese side FC Porto 3-1 in their first group fixture. A spot kick from Aguero brought city level before half time after a surprise early lead from the Portuguese champions. Gundogan gave city the lead converting a free kick before new signing Ferran Torres sealed the win for the hosts in injury time. The host will be aiming to get a point in the fixture after a 1-0 lose to Greece champions Olympiacos.
